About Ted'ees 'Patch' and
how it all began!
My son attends a School
in the Forest of Dean and a little boy sadly
died in November 2005 and he really loved
Teddy Bears. We wanted to show
our respects, so we had a
beautiful Teddy Bear wreath made on behalf
of all the parents. This laid in my cottage
overnight and ever since that day I saw Teddy Bears everywhere I ventured.
My son won first
prize - a giant Teddy Bear similar to Ted’ee
‘Patch’ at our School Christmas raffle and
again I continued to be surrounded by Teddy
Bears everywhere I looked & everywhere I
walked.
After Christmas I asked my son
“If I were to set up in business
producing children’s parties
with Teddy Bears, what should I
do”.
He replied: “Make It
or Paint It Mum”.
Well this was the
beginning of my exciting adventure as I
started to source the contacts & materials
for children to Make or Paint Teddy Bears.
After 6 months, with the help of my friend
Kathryn the basis of the business was
established. The main objective being:
to provide a unique Birthday party
experience which, is both rewarding to the
child and stress free for the parent.
Ted’ees ‘Patch’ was launched at the end of June 2006 at
Beechenhurst Lodge and even on that day my
son won the Name The Teddy Bear Competition
we were running … (albeit he kindly put it
back for someone else to win). It was then
that I knew I was destined for this business
and dedicate it to the lovely little boy who
passed away. He will always be remembered in
the eyes of Ted’ee ‘Patch’.
A Special Thank-you
Special thanks go to my now, 11
year-old son whose key phrase
inspired me to pursue a business
venture and to my partner Steve for
his continued support throughout.
